Insured care from the basic package

Although we do not (yet) have contracts with health insurers, you never have to pay a personal contribution (eigen bijdrage) at Femmecare. You only pay us what your health insurer pays out to you. In addition, if (part of) your deductible (eigen risico) is still outstanding, part of the invoice may fall under this deductible.

  • You pay us

What your health insurer pays out

You transfer the amount your health insurer pays out to you to us.

  • Only if still outstanding

    Your statutory deductible

Is your statutory deductible (eigen risico) still (partly) outstanding? Then (part of) your bill may fall under the statutory deductible, just as in a hospital.

  • Waived by us as a goodwill gesture

    The personal contribution

We waive the part your health insurer does not reimburse as a goodwill gesture. We cover this ourselves.

Good to know

Why you do not pay a personal contribution here

Femmecare does not (yet) have contracts with health insurers. That is only possible once a clinic has existed for three years. Care without a contract is called non-contracted care; it is still insured care. How much you are reimbursed then depends on your policy. This is usually 65 to 100% of the fee. In principle, you would have to pay the part your health insurer does not reimburse yourself. That part is called the personal contribution (eigen bijdrage).

We waive that personal contribution as a goodwill gesture: we cover it ourselves. You only pay us the amount your health insurer pays out to you, plus your statutory deductible if it is still outstanding. This means care at Femmecare costs you no more than care in a hospital.

We do this because we believe good women’s healthcare should be accessible to everyone. Your choice of clinic should not depend on what your insurer does or does not reimburse.

To qualify, you do need to follow the step-by-step plan below, including the last step in which you send us the statement from your health insurer. Without that statement, we cannot apply the goodwill arrangement. The conditions are set out in the treatment agreement and the general terms and conditions (both in Dutch).

Step-by-step plan

You have received an invoice. What now?

We send you the invoice after your course of treatment has been completed. In seven steps, you can read here what to do with it. Please note: you do not pay us the full invoice amount, only the part you owe yourself. And you only have to pay after your health insurer has transferred the reimbursement to you.

Do start with step 1 straight away: we must receive the claim statement from your health insurer within 30 days of the invoice date.

  1. Submit a claim to your health insurer

You can usually do this online, through your insurer’s app or online account. Not sure how? Ask your health insurer to explain. Submit the invoice as soon as possible. When you submit digitally, your health insurer usually responds within 1 to 2 working days.

  2. Your health insurer determines your reimbursement

The health insurer checks which insurance you have and then determines how much you will be reimbursed.

  3. You receive a claim statement

Your health insurer sends you a claim statement (declaratieoverzicht), sometimes called a reimbursement statement (vergoedingsoverzicht). It shows how much the insurer reimburses, what you have to pay yourself and how much of your deductible is still outstanding. Keep this statement safe. You will need it for step 4 and step 7.

  4. Work out the amount you owe

You do not pay us the full invoice amount, only what your health insurer pays out to you. In some cases, you also pay your statutory deductible, if it is still outstanding. You can ignore the part that is not reimbursed (your personal contribution): we waive that as a goodwill gesture.

    An example

    Amount on our invoice€ 180
Not reimbursed by your health insurer (your personal contribution)You do not pay this: Femmecare waives this amount as a goodwill gesture€ 70
    Statutory deductible still outstanding€ 30
Payment from your health insurer to you€ 80
    You transfer to us: € 80 + € 30This is the amount you owe, not the € 180 on the invoice€ 110

In some cases, the invoice is lower than your outstanding deductible. The health insurer then pays nothing out to you, but part of your deductible is used up. In that case, you only count the deductible that has been used.

  5. You do not have to pay yet

Wait until your health insurer has transferred the reimbursement

You may wait to pay until your health insurer has deposited the reimbursed amount into your account. So you do not have to pay the amount in advance. As soon as you have received the reimbursement, go on to step 6.

Does the invoice fall entirely under your deductible, so that your health insurer transfers nothing to you? Then you do not have to wait and can go on to step 6 as soon as you have the claim statement.

  6. Transfer the amount you owe

Transfer the amount you worked out in step 4. In most cases, this is not the full invoice amount. Do this as soon as the reimbursement from your health insurer is in your account. Include your invoice number and patient number in the payment description; you will find both on the invoice.

Is the reimbursement or claim statement from your health insurer taking a long time? Then contact our finance department at rekenkamer@femmecare.nl and we will find a solution together.

  7. Send us the claim or reimbursement statement

This step is needed for your personal contribution, which we waive as a goodwill gesture. From the statement, we can see which part your health insurer has reimbursed, and we cover the rest. We must receive the statement no later than 30 days after the invoice date. You can send it in two ways:

    By email

rekenkamer@femmecare.nl Always include your invoice number

Please note

Conditions in brief

  • If your compulsory statutory deductible is still outstanding, you always pay it yourself; it never falls under the goodwill arrangement. The Dutch government sets the amount of the deductible each year.
  • If you do not cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance (on working days), or do not attend, we may charge a no-show fee. Your health insurer does not reimburse this fee.
  • The goodwill arrangement applies to patients with Dutch health insurance.
  • The goodwill arrangement lapses 30 days after the invoice date.
  • The goodwill arrangement is a gesture from Femmecare, not a right. We assess each request individually, based on the conditions in the treatment agreement and the general terms and conditions (both in Dutch).
