Call Femmecare

For symptoms or concerns about your treatment or recovery, for example:

  • persistent abdominal pain that does not ease with painkillers
  • a fever of 38.0 °C or higher
  • blood loss that is heavier than a normal period, or that continues
  • an unpleasant-smelling discharge
  • problems with medication or wound care
043 700 9773

The emergency care number is for patients who are being treated at Femmecare, for symptoms related to that treatment. Emergency care is anything that cannot wait until the next working day.

What happens when you call the emergency care number?

  1. You call the emergency care number

Depending on who is on duty, you will speak to a doctor straight away. Or we will note your name, date of birth, phone number and symptoms, and a doctor will call you back.

  2. A doctor assesses your symptoms

The doctor assesses how serious your symptoms are. If you mention signs of a life-threatening emergency, we will ask you to call 112 immediately.

  3. The doctor chooses the best next step

You will receive advice by phone, with an appointment on the next working day if needed. If you need to be seen, the doctor will in principle see you at the clinic, or arrange your transfer to the hospital.

Good to know

The emergency care number is not for

  • general or administrative questions
  • making, changing or cancelling appointments
  • repeat prescriptions: you can request these using our form (in Dutch)
  • requesting or discussing test results
  • symptoms unrelated to your treatment at Femmecare

For these, you can call us during opening hours, or ask your question using the form (in Dutch).

Not a patient, or no longer being treated?

For medical symptoms, you can contact:

  • your GP, during office hours
  • the out-of-hours GP service (huisartsenpost), outside office hours
  • 112, in a life-threatening emergency
