Patient information

Patient leaflets

Here you will find Femmecare's information leaflets. They accompany the conversations you have with your doctor and help you read back at home, at your own pace, what was discussed.

The leaflets themselves are in Dutch

This page is in English, but the leaflets are currently available in Dutch only. If something in a leaflet is unclear, ask us during your appointment or use the form for existing patients.

What is a patient leaflet?

A patient leaflet is a short explanation of a single subject: a symptom, an examination or a treatment. We explain what it is, what you can expect, what choices there are and what to look out for. The leaflets are based on the Dutch guidelines; at the bottom of each leaflet you will find the sources the text is based on.

The leaflets are written in general terms. They describe the usual course of events, not your personal situation.

How to use these leaflets

  • Read the leaflet calmly before your appointment, so you know what the conversation will be about
  • Or read it again after your appointment: in a conversation, a great deal does not stick
  • Note down anything you do not understand or are unsure about, and bring those questions to your appointment
  • If you read the leaflet together with your partner or someone else who is thinking it through with you, you can weigh things up together

Your doctor's treatment plan always takes precedence

What a leaflet says is general information. Your doctor looks at your situation: your symptoms, your history, your wishes and your risks. The advice you receive may therefore differ from what you read here. If it does, follow what your doctor has agreed with you, and feel free to ask why. These leaflets do not replace the conversation with your doctor.

Unsure, or does something not match your situation?
